In hindsight

Humans have this incredible ability to soak up all that’s happened to them or around them, transform all of that action into memory, digest it into memories and assimilate them as experiences and finally, pass them on as words of wisdom.

“What is past is prologue” — William Shakespeare

All our lives, we’ve been collecting memories, souvenirs of our existence engraved in our minds. The people we meet, the places we go, the things we do and the things that happen to us, all of them have made us who we are now.

The seeds of memories, once sown into the lands of our mind, flourish into a giant maze of beautiful experiences which dictate the actions we take and the choices we make.

Every incident, happy or sad, leaves behind a trail of emotions laced with wisdom.

It is hard to see the lesson at times, but it is always right there in front of you. Once you resurface after immersing yourself through the emotional tide, you must climb up into the boat of wisdom for it will be the wind in your sails for the rest of your life. So the next time you find yourself in a similar storm, you can navigate through it with easy grace.

And at times things will get hard, almost seemingly impossible to overcome. But with time, everything heals. And in hindsight, nothing was as terrible as it seemed. The hardest of times leave us with the most invaluable of lessons.

The past indeed is prologue, for it dictates what the present will be. And thus, lays the foundation to our future.
